Tinubu hosts Gov Adeleke, elder brother, Davido in Lagos
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu last night hosted Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke at his Ikoyi private home in Lagos.
He was accompanied by his businessman elder brother Dr. Adedeji Adeleke and renowned Afrobeat artiste David Adeleke (popularly known as Davido).
Davido is Dr. Adeleke’s son.
The visit was made public by the Special Assistant to the President on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, via a post on his verified X handle, @DOlusegun.
The presidential aide wrote: “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu receives in audience, H.E. Ademola Adeleke, the Executive Governor of Osun State, and Chief Adedeji Adeleke at his residence in Lagos.”
Details of the visit were not immediately made public, but sources familiar with the visit described it as cordial and reflective of the President’s inclusive engagement style, particularly with leaders and influential figures across political divides.
Adeleke, an opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governor is being challenged by the President’s All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate senior figures ahead of next year’s election.
Last month, the three senators from Osun State — all elected on PDP platform —pledged to back Tinubu in the 2027 election.
Most politically serving House of Representatives members in Osun State, Hon. Oluwole Oke last month defected to the APC.
The presence of the popular music star at the meeting sparked widespread interest on social media, with supporters and fans applauding what many see as a symbolic moment of unity and generational bridging.
