Encomium As Lion Dasola Dawodu Ordained 35th President Of Ota Doyen Lions Club

 


In order to be in the fore front of the pursuit of laudable programmes of


humanitarian service delivery Of Ota Doyen Lions Club, the committee has approved the emergence of Dasola Dawodu as 35th President of the club.


The Chairman, Planning Committee, Lion(Engr.) Dawud Alli in his welcome  address said the club would continue to be at the forefront of disease prevention, provision of infrastructure and basic sanitation, sight care and conflict resolution among others.


The Guest Speaker, A Senior Lecturer, Department of Urban and Regional Planning, University of Lagos,DR. Taofik Salau gave Credence to the Lions club's involvement in the environmental Management in a bid to perform their humanitarian service delivery adding that impacts of environmental change should be considered at all times . 


"Residents should ensure reduction of waste, purchase of less package material, cook food for only that would eat, monitoring of appliances, flushing of toilet when needed, usage of public transport, sales of unwanted or unused items and so on would ameliorate our society and make it more safer to co-habit", Don added.

The Out going President of the club, Lion Iyabo Aina NLCF, in her valedictory speech added that the club has successfully donated medical apparatus at Primary Health Care Center, Odo - Pako, Ota, distribution of eye glasses, Diabetics screening and awareness programme at Atan Ota,  feeding of over 300 less privileged at Sango Ota adding that the club was not left out in the provision of succour to people during covid -19 pandemic.


" There is no real ending. It's just the place where you stop the story, I advise the incoming team to further ensure rapid transformation and abide with 3 T's : Time, Treasure and Talent", Aina added.




The newly inaugurated President, Lion Dasola in her acceptance speech said it is Paramount in life to be happy, aswell, make some other people happy which is the epitome of the club adding that there is need to expedite action towards the completion of construction of a block of two classrooms, an office with a toilet at St Peter's African Primary School, Iyesi Ota.


" The club under my leadership will continue to strive to attract quality members into our folds and we shall continue to render quality and impactful service to our community in accordance with the Lions Club service theme area whIch are: relieving hunger, vision, environment, diabetes, youth empower ment and pediatric cancer", she highlighted.


The District Governor, Lion Lynda Oluremi Odunmbaku, PMJF, NLCF in her remarks said the newly inaugurated team should key - in into the District Projects such as: completion of Badagry Lion Eye Center, building of a dialysis center charging them to increase the membership of the club by 21percent and ensure to alleviate sufferings of diabetics, provision of vision for the blind and visually impaired, give food to the hungry, support healthy environment amongst others.


Some of the dignitaries in attendance are: The Transition Committee Chairman, Ado-Odo/Ota LG,Alhaji Wasiu Lawal, Chief Alhaji Ibrahim Dende Egungbohun, Permanent Secretary, Ogun State, Cabinet and Security Services, Lion Olanrewaju Saka.
