In furtherance for recognition of Lion Nofisat Motunrayo Etiko of her immense contributions to the upliftment of Ota Silva Lions Club, the committee has appointed her as the 3rd and 1st Female President, 2021 Lions year.
The Chairperson Presentation Cum Fund Raising, Lion Oluwatosin Akanbi described the new installed President and other officers as being capable to Foster development in various communities by carrying out meaningful projects adding that to do this, there would be need to generate funds through generous donations which in no doubt would be judiciously spent to facilitate rapid development in the year 2020/2021 Lions year.
The Guest lecturer, Dr. Kehinde Kadiri in her lecture identifies the need for everyone to ensure development of our communities and assisting the less privilege in the society emphasizing the need to touch lives of those in the rural communities most especially in the area of providing safe drinking water for them
In her acceptance speech, Lion Nofisat Motunrayo Etiko said it is a welcome development for her to be part of over 1.4 Million people globally impacti ng the lives of less privilege in our various communities assuring that despite the COVID-19 Pandemic many lives would be touched positively.
According to her,"we have targeted at about 40,000 people while focusing on the Lions Clubs International Service Goals by relieving hunger, protecting vision, helping those living with diabetes, protecting our environment and preventing childhood cancer", Lion Nofisat Etiko added.
The new president emphasised that the core project for the year would be provision of safe drinking water for those in the rural communities promising to uphold the tenets of the club in such a way that in her time as president, an everlasting memorable in the mindset of individuals would illuminate.
The out going president, who has served for two consecutive years, Lion Sheik RilwanTijany, NLCF, thanked the members of the club for the opportunity given, to serve advising the new installed officers to be deligent in the discharge of their responsibilities.
"The worse distance between two people is misunderstanding, that is why, I will implore all members and newly elected officers to kindly continue to give their supports to my successor in other to take our club to the greater heights that we all have been clamouring for, in all, never allow any mere say to tear us apart", he advised.
In their remarks,the Chairman of the Occasion, Mr Tajudeen Adebayo, Guest Speaker ,Dr. Kehinde Kadiri, The Special Guest of Honor, Mr Tola Sodeinde FCA and Mr Gbenga Adeyemi all pledged their full support to alleviate the suffering of the less priviledge through support to the new President, Lion Nofisat Etiko in particular and Ota Silva Lions Club in general chorousing this is the only means of investing in mankind.
