COMMISSION CONDUCTS EXAM FOR OOUTH WORKERS SEEKING UPGRADE

Ogun State Civil Service Commission has conducted a qualifying written examination for staff of Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH), seeking upgrade into various professional cadres in the Civil Service.

Speaking during the exercise, at the Staff Development Centre, Abeokuta, the Chairman, State Civil Service Commission, Engr. Tokunbo Odebunmi disclosed that the examination conducted by the Public Service Competitive Examination Board is to test the ability, knowledge and performance of the candidates.

Odebunmi explained that the applicants who sat for the examination cut across various cadres, including Administrative, Nutrition, Social Welfare, Accounting and Information, adding that successful ones would occupy vacant positions in the institution.

He said one of the core mandates of the Board is to score candidates based on merit, and would not relent in sustaining the tempo, noting that the Civil Service Commission is the warehouse where recruitment, training and planning are put together.

The Chairman commended the Prince Dapo Abiodun led-administration for keeping its campaign promises, by providing job opportunities for qualified graduates and encouraging workers to gain more knowledge.

"I want to assure you that the present government is responsive, and interested in the progress of every worker, that is why this administration has taken fundamental steps by paying the new minimum wage’’, he said.

Also speaking, Permanent Secretary in the Commission, Mr. Kolawole Ogunlana, said the exercise was meant to screen candidates seeking upgrade into higher cadres, having acquired higher certificates in the course of service.

Speaking on behalf of other candidates, Mr. Dairo Olugbenga and Mrs. Oniyitan Abiola, appreciated the State government for the privilege and described the process capable of giving them the opportunity to contribute their quota to the growth of the State, as laudable.
