  2021 HAJJ CANCELLATION: OGSG ASSURES INTENDING PILGRIMS OF SAFETY OF THEIR DEPOSITS

Following the cancellation of 2021 hajj pilgrimage by the Saudi Arabia authority due to COVID-19 pandemic, the Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board (OGSMPWB) has assured intending pilgrims who wish to defer the exercise till 2022 of the safety of their hajj fare deposit.


The Board in a release by its Executive Secretary, Alhaji Salau Babatunde however enjoined intending pilgrims who wish to seek refund to visit the Board's Secretariat at Block B Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta with their international passport and payment receipts for prompt processing.

          It also urged the intending pilgrims to accept the cancellation in good faith and the will of the Almighty to protect the Muslim Ummah from the pandemic.

          “The decision of the Saudi Arabia authority on Hajj was borne out of the challenges posed by the present reality of COVID 19 pandemic. Pilgrims are hereby urged to be patient and hopeful for future hajj exercise”, the statement admonished.
