Lagos Police authorities dismiss female officer for fighting colleagues in public

There was a commotion recently when a female officer attached to the Nigerian Police Force, Lagos Command, Tolulope Dosumi, was dismissed from service.

In a wireless letter addressed to the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of Area F Ikeja and sighted by The Street Journal, the officer was dismissed for offences bordering on uncleanliness, disobedience to lawful order, gross insubordination and discreditable conduct.

In a video also seen by this newspaper, the erring officer could be seen with long braids, getting into a public altercation with other personnel.

The letter added that the offences were contrary to paragraphs P, F and E (iii) of the 1st schedule of the Police Act and regulation CAP 370 of 1990.

It was gathered that following a room proceeding headed by the police commissioner in the state, Hakeem Odumosu, Tolulope Dosumi was found guilty of all charges levelled against her. It was ruled that she be dismissed from service with immediate effect.

The letter further directed the officer in charge of Area F Ikeja to retrieve the warrant card from the erring officer and eject her from the barracks if she resides in one.

Other instructions given was that her name be deleted from the police database and payroll.
