“I’m tired of the injustice in the APC family; they’ve been excluding me from so many of their functions; I’ve gone, I’ve gone to the PDP for good,” Bororo said.
According to sources in the House of Assembly, the House was expecting a letter from Musa Umar regarding his change of political affiliation on Sunday afternoon.
Bororo’s departure, on the other hand, is seen as a positive and long-awaited development by the APC.
Bororo’s loyalty to the party, according to the party’s Assistant Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Mohammed Mayas, was questioned.
“He hasn’t been a part of us for a long time,” he said. We’ve known it for a long time. He sold our mandate on a silver platter for a pittance, but it doesn’t bother us in the least.
It was reported, that Senator Danjuma Goje, a former governor of Gombe State, has defected from the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Former governors Adamu Aliero (Kebbi); Olagunsoye Oyinlola (Osun); former acting National Chairman of the PDP, Abubakar Baraje; and former Speaker of the House of Representatives and current Governor of Sokoto, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, among others, all defected to the ruling APC before the 2015 general election.
If Goje makes an official declaration, he will join the political bigwigs in Nigeria who have returned to their former party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
According to a source close to Senator (Goje), the former Gombe Governor has already informed his core supporters of his decision to rejoin the PDP.
When the Senator finally joins the PDP formally, it was learnt that he may run for President in 2023.
