Ondo: Olujare of Ijare, Oluwagbemigun, passes on at 83
Olujare of Ijare, Oba Adebamigbe Oluwagbemigun, Kokotiri II has passed on.
Ijare, in Ifedore Local Government area of Ondo State, was the community where 36 cows were struck to death by lightning in 2019.
Sapetu of Ijareland, High Chief Wemimo Olaniran confirmed the incident to a source.
He said, “Baba has joined his ancestors. The traditional rites have commenced.”
It was gathered that the traditional ruler, who assumed throne in 1996 passed away at the age of 83 after a brief illness.
Our correspondent learnt that line with the tradition of the town, one of the high chiefs of the town will begin to act as the regent until a new monarch emerges .
