Shan George to Chiwetalu Agu: Be proud of your Biafran outfit
Actress Shan George has told her colleague Chiwetalu Agu to be proud of the Biafran outfit he spotted for which he was arrested by soldiers on Thursday.
The veteran actor was said to be on a charitable mission when he was arrested by some officers of the Nigerian Army for reportedly adorning Biafran insignia at the popular Upper Iweka Area of Onitsha, Anambra State.
He was released on Friday afternoon(today).
But the film star after his arrest in a video, argued his attire wasn’t Biafra nor Eastern security Network but depicts the rising sun.
“This is rising, this is sun. This is rising sun not Biafra not Eastern Security Newtwork. Do you understand? So, with my education, I know areas to go; areas not to go,” he said as soldiers told him to move on in their custody.
Reacting to Chiwetalu Agu’s argument, Shan George said her colleague was clearly wearing what he’s being accused of.
She told him to quit trying to explain otherwise and be proud of it instead.
According to her, Chiwetalu Agu should raise his head high and ‘own’ the Biafra flag he is wearing with his ‘full chest’.
The actress also explained there was absolutely nothing wrong in people fighting for their course as long as they are doing so peacefully
In a post on social media, Shan George said: “My brother, you are clearly wearing a Biafra flag, and you should own it with your full chest. I don’t get all the rising sun English you are speaking.
“I personally see nothing wrong in a certain people fighting for their freedom.
“Nigeria fought for theirs from the British before 1960. Scotland, etc fought for theirs too. At least you were not carrying any arms, fighting for freedom peacefully shouldn’t be a crime. Own your Fight/Struggle with your full chest.”
