ADO-ODO/OTA LG BOOSTS POULTRY SECTOR WITH 1,000 BIRDS
In a bid to increase protein intakes of its citizenry as well boost the internally generated revenue, the Chairman, Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government, Hon. Sheriff Adewale Musa has increased the poultry farm of the Council Area with 1,000 point of lay birds.
Presenting the birds at the Local Government Secretariat, Hon. Sheriff Adewale maintained that his administration would not relent at providing succor to the people as promised during his electioneering campaign.
Hon. Musa emphasized the need to develop the agricultural sector of the Local Government Area due to the concerted efforts and professionalism of the Agriculture and Natural Resources Department of the Council.
Speaking, the Director of Agriculture and Natural Resources Mr. Kayode Kikisagbe thanked the Council Boss for taking agriculture as priority and pointed out that the old layers of the birds, sold to the public recently necessitated the need to purchase the new 1,000 point of lay birds which according to him, would improve the internally generated revenue of the Local Government.
He assured that in two months, the new birds will start laying eggs which would then be available for sale, calling on the public to patronize the Local Government poultry, as it was necessary for everyone to increase their protein intakes by eating one egg per day.
