President, Sanwo-Olu, Abiodun, Buni visit Shonekan’s family in Lagos
President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday visited the Lagos home of the late Head of Interim National Government (ING) following the annulled June 12, 1993 presidential election, Chief Ernest Shonekan, to commiserate with the deceased’s family.
The President was accompanied to the Lugard Avenue, Ikoyi home of the Shonekans by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, his Ogun and Yobe states’ counterparts, Prince Dapo Abiodun and Mai Mala Buni.
He and his entourage arrived the Shonekans’ house around 4.40 p.m and were received by members of the family.
President Buhari, who was on a one-day visit to Ogun State to inaugurate some projects executed by the Abiodun administration, stopped in Lagos on his way to Abuja and spent some time to commiserate with the late Shonekan’s family.
He sympathised with the family over the demise of the former Head of ING, who died in Lagos on Tuesday at the age of 85.
