WORK IN HARMONY WITH PRINCIPALS -TESCOM BOSS URGES NEW VPs

The Chairman Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), Evangelists. Ifede Olalekan has charged the newly 263 inducted Vice Principals (VPs) to work in harmony with the school principals for improved academic performance.


Ifede stated this in Abeokuta at the induction of the Vice Principals, adding that quality knowledge impartation could only thrive in a peaceful environment as it would also avail them the opportunity to harness the inherent potentials of other teaching and non-teaching staff.

The Chairman disclosed that the Commission would always entrench professional ethics, fairness, equity, justice and applaud good performance, which would be accorded with motivational methods.

"My advice for you is to embrace humility and wisdom to enable you execute your job effectively as well as put in your best to reposition our public secondary schools, for better academic achievement". Ifede said.

He commended the Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun for his passion and contribution towards the development of the education sector.

Speaking earlier, the Permanent Secretary, TESCOM, Dr. Abdulwaheed Olanloye enjoined the inductees to serve as catalysts to academic upliftment in the various schools assigned to them.

Olanloye added that they should exhibit qualities of Vice principals, as they are embodiment of emulation to teachers and students under their watch.

In his contribution, the Commissioner IV of TESCOM who also doubles as the Chairman Committee of Induction, Hon. Ademola Joseph urged them to possess parental attributes, by evaluating students’ attitudes to studies, identify their strength and weaknesses to foster excellent academic performance in written and verbal examinations.

In their responses, some of the Inductees, Mrs. Fatusi Taiwo and Mr. Ibrahim Asalejo eulogised the present administration for its consistence towards teachers’ welfare in the State, adding that they would adhere strictly to the advice of the Chairman and board members.
