LIRS STAFF -STILL ON THE INHUMANE TREATMENT

Let' be reminded that the  main mandate of the LIRS is to generate revenue internally for the Lagos State Government which the Agency has been performing creditably well through its staff - oriented- commitment through the humane treatment of the past management.

LIRS is the undoubted pot of stew of Lagos State  to be factual.  Why then is the Agency’s current management team determined to break the pot? Because once the staff is demoralized the Agency will devoid of efficiency and productivity.

Mr Governor, all your re-election campaign promises will be difficult to fulfil if the chicken that is laying the Golden Eggs is made barren.

A clarion call to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Mr Governor, Mr Deputy Governor, the Speaker and other stakeholders and well meaning Nigerians to prevail on the LIRS management, to let go of its highhandedness, draconian and obnoxious decision. All that is required of the management in this instance is to treat the LIRS well through our promotion as and when due and nothing much.

If  CBT exam is the  only yardstick not minding other criteria, then the condition of getting a certain percentage should be removed. A simple overall aggregate of the 3 categories (CBT Exam, Structural Training and Performance Appraisal) should be used. This is all the agency staff is asking as done in the past.

Let me explain, a certain cadre requires 55% overall aggregate for promotion an officer got 65% overall aggregate, not promoted another, because of the condition of getting certain percentages, and another one got an overall aggregate of 58% and got promoted.

Is the management encouraging MEDIOCRITY over MERITOCRACY? In all the 3 categories, the Performance Appraisal is the most important, because staff should earn promotion based on performance on the job and not some theoretical CBT Exams that is good for nothing but some academic purposes

Few individuals at the Helms of LIRS Management, Whose Badge of Good Performance is Depriving Hard Working Staff of the Agency of their Progress, insisting on their rigid decision at the expense of flexibility forgetting that Lives of people are involved .

We believe in the caprices of  APC Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Mr Governor and other stakeholders mentioned above to prevail on the LIRS Management to DO THE NEEDFUL to avoid all of you  been accused of complicity or connivance in this matter.

 

 A position we do not want to believe!!!
