CP Mba warns Ogun residents to eschew violence

Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Mr Frank Mba has called on the residents of the state to warn their wards to steer clear of causing violence during and after the governorship and state assembly elections coming up on Saturday.

Mba while speaking with our correspondent said  the command has made arrangements for a peaceful election across the nooks and crannies of the state.

He said he has also called on different political party leaders to caution their members and appeal to them on the need to eschew violence and allow for a free, fair and transparent election in the state.

Mba said the coming election is one that touches the people at the grassroots as they will in addition to electing their governors, also elect those that will represent them in the state assembly.

He said the police will be well redeployed to ensure that peace loving residents are allowed to carry out their civic duty, warning that anyone that foments trouble or prevents people from having peaceful voting will be dealt with according to the law of the land.

Ogun CP however commended all political parties in the state for having peaceful campaigns ahead of the election, saying they should maintain  the conducive atmosphere.

Mba called on religious leaders and the traditional leaders in the state to help preach peace during and after the elections.

He assured that the police and the sister security agencies will be around the nooks and crannies of the state to ensure peace and tranquility  during the Saturday polls.
