Abducted Housewife Escapes From Kidnappers’ Den of in Taraba
Amina Adamu, one of the three housewives abducted along Takum-Katsina-Ala road in Takum Local Government Area of Taraba State four weeks ago, has escaped from the kidnappers’ den.
According to a relation of her husband, Mallam Maiwada, Amina escaped while the kidnappers were asleep.
He said however two other housewives and daughter of General T.Y. Danjuma’s brother were still in the hands of the kidnappers.
It was further gathered that two persons that took ransom for the release of the three housewives were held by the kidnappers.
The brother of General T.Y Danjuma, Mr Benjamin, was abducted alongside his wife and daughter but he was released after ransom was paid.
However, the kidnappers refused to allow his wife and daughter leave.
Residents of Takum are facing threat from kidnappers that operate day and night along Takum-Katsina-Ala and Takum-Kashinbila road.
One of the residents, Bello Haruna, told our correspondent that it is very risky to travel along the two roads because of the activities of the kidnappers.
He said several people, mostly traders, had been kidnapped along the two roads and many of them are still in captivity.
The Acting Police Public Relations Officer Taraba Police Command, DSP Kwache Gambo, when contacted said she would get in touch with DPO Takum over the incident and call back she had not done so as of the time of filing this report.
