Julius Berger, subsidiaries headline Big 5, ECOBANK Expos

Nigeria’s leading engineering construction company Julius Berger Nigeria PLC, last week in Lagos, led its various subsidiaries to make a commanding impression at the recently concluded BIG 5 and ECOBANK Expositions, showcasing the unique innovation, craftsmanship, and expansive portfolio alongside its subsidiaries.

While the Big 5 event took place at the historic Landmark Events Centre, the other held inside the expansive ECOBANK Pan African Centre, Lagos.

Conscious of the opportunity the development presented to stakeholders in the sector, Nigeria’s best in the provision of aluminium and glass solutions, ABUMET, the pioneer in design and engineering in the country, PrimeTech Nigeria Ltd as well as the company’s Excellence Centre and Julius Berger Precast Services stormed the landmark event with new innovations and revised editions of their products and services at the Landmark Event Centre.

Each Julius Berger subsidiary brought their unique flair to the events. From cutting-edge architectural designs to advanced solutions and premium aluminium systems. The stands reflected the group’s commitment to quality, sustainability, and technological advancement.

A Facility Manager and officer in charge of the company’s Excellence Centre, Aleksandar Serafimoski said the Centre has a little bit more diverse portfolio.

This is our second time attending the Expo and so far, a lot of visitors are interested and intrigued by the quality of work done in the unit and we are very optimistic that the Exhibition is achieving its purpose of being a good avenue for networking, he said.

He further said that from the huge number of visitors to the stand, more companies are willing to collaborate with us rather than individual customers. Above all, the exhibition is a good platform to be seen in the construction industry

The Commercial Manager for the Julius Berger Precast Services, Christian Bauer, declared that we are representing Julius Berger, and what we are basically trying to do is to showcase that we are branching out into smaller scales.

 Explaining further, he said that Julius Berger is currently manufacturing smaller pavements, blocks and so on as well as larger scale precast materials like pipes, U-channels among others.

 The Head of Architecture Department at PrimeTech, Joseph Abba said he was excited that the event was a well-attended event saying, thus far, we have met a lot of people we have worked with in the past and also people that we have worked for, and potential clients as well that have many projects lines upcoming and they need design services, especially due to the fact that they are fascinated about project that we at PrimeTech have executed.

 Specifically, I think we have met some people from the oil and gas industry that we are hoping to develop relationships with, going forward. We have also met some people that are quite interested in sustainability, which is a service that we also offer in terms of design and engineering. and the possibilities of partnerships going forward with them too. So, I think those are two key areas that we've looked at. There are people that we, ourselves and the Julius Berger group also work with, and it's quite interesting that we have people that come to us not aware that we are part of the Julius Berger, and it also gives us exposure, in terms of our affiliation with Julius Berger Nigeria PLC.

Daniel Oladejo, a Sales Manager at Julius Berger, said Big 5 has been a very effective platform for the company to let visitors in on the fact that Julius Berger can handle any project no matter how intricate it is, saying, if you want to build a house, we can handle everything, from the design and planning down to the furniture, windows, cabinets, and finishing. We also provide exclusive, high-security construction services for private individuals who value privacy and safety.

At the ECOBANK Design and Build Expo, the luxury furniture production arm of Julius Berger, AFP, shone like a thousand stars as the company’s stand and its array of office and domestic furniture became the cynosure of all eyes.

On the last day of the Design and Build event, the Managing Director of Temolat Ventures, a business partner of AFP, Chief Olusegun Ogundero, summarised his impression of the twin expos. Put together, the twin expos drew industry leaders, investors, and curious attendees from across the country. Julius Berger’s exhibition stands both at Landmark and ECOBANK Centre, quickly became a focal point, drawing crowds with immersive displays, interactive demos, and a compelling narrative of excellence in infrastructure development.

A striking similarity of the approach of Julius Berger personnel at the twin expos was that visitors were treated to virtual walkthroughs of landmark projects, live demonstrations of smart building technologies, and engaging conversations with company representatives. The synergy between the parent company and its subsidiaries was evident, reinforcing Julius Berger’s reputation as a one-stop powerhouse for engineering and construction solutions.

Speaking at the event, Head of Julius Berger’s Strategic Business Development, Felipe Lopes noted, we are proud to be part of these expos, not just to showcase our work, but to engage with the future of construction and design. Our subsidiaries play a vital role in expanding our capabilities, and we’re excited to share that story with the public.

The two expos, which have now come to be known as the largest gathering in Nigeria for construction professionals, brought together lots of attendees and hundreds of exhibitors from different countries. The General Managers of the subsidiaries were all present alongside top management staff of the company.
