Governor Soludo Celebrates Ihiala’s Transformation During Campaign Rally

Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State emphasises his administration’s remarkable transformation of Ihiala Local Government Area, a promise he kept alive, during a recent campaign rally in the area, which was once bedeviled by insecurity.

“We have come to celebrate the liberation of Ihiala,” Soludo declared, reflecting on the challenges faced before the advent of his administration, which intervened in combating crime and violent activities that made life unsafe in the area.

Recalling the security challenges in the area, Governor Soludo stated, “On the day we scheduled our APGA rally, we could not come because of massive shootings, and people were wounded. Even the election had to be postponed and rescheduled to be held on a separate day.”

In light of this, Governor Soludo expressed gratitude to Ihiala stakeholders and security forces for their efforts in restoring safety. He stated, “Today, Ihiala is liberated.”

The governor announced the implementation of an amnesty programme for youths who had previously engaged in criminal activities, encouraging those still in hiding to come forward for rehabilitation and skills training.

On the support for his re-election, Governor Soludo affirmed, “Communities are contributing funds to our campaign, which is something never seen in the history of the state,” stating that it is appreciated and that it is a demonstration of the confidence in his administration in transforming the state. “Anambra is rising,” the governor added, with a promise to return to the community with a progress report on their initiatives.

In his remark, Rev. Fr. Ernest Obiegwu, who spoke on behalf of the Ebonesie community, expressed gratitude for the positive changes in the area, stating, “Our churches, which were once closed, have finally reopened, and for the first time in years, we are celebrating Mass again.”

On his part, Pastor Azuka Mgbochi also commended Governor Soludo for his impactful security initiatives, saying, “Thanks to the Governor’s efforts, we now feel safe and secure in our homes and places of worship.”

Consequently, other leaders in the area, including Chief Nwabueze Umeh and Hon. Chika Obi, both of whom pledged to actively mobilize resources and support for the Governor’s campaign. Comrade Ukatu Damian, Adaobi Orizu, and Ichie Ifeanyi Orjiakor also expressed their commitment to work tirelessly to ensure the governor’s success in the upcoming election.
