Fluidé Homes Launches “Rest to Rise” Initiative, Inviting Nigerians to Rethink How They Rest
LAGOS, NIGERIA — Nigerian premium lifestyle and wellness brand, Fluidé Homes, has launched “Rest to Rise,” an initiative examining the way Nigerians understand, experience and prioritise rest amid the demands of work, entrepreneurship, family, social expectations and an increasingly connected digital lifestyle.
The initiative seeks to move the conversation around rest beyond sleep and downtime, exploring rest as an essential part of creativity, productivity, emotional well-being and the ability to show up fully in different areas of life.
At the heart of the initiative is a simple proposition: the way people rest influences the way they rise.
For many Nigerians, rest is often treated as a reward rather than as a necessary part of functioning well. Long work hours, hustles, entrepreneurial pressures and the expectation to remain constantly available have contributed to a culture where being busy is frequently associated with ambition.
“Rest to Rise” was created against this backdrop, asking a broader question:
what does meaningful rest actually look like for Nigerians?
Speaking on the initiative, Fluidé Homes founder, Miracle Onuoha said the campaign was inspired by the need to create a space for a broader and more open conversation around rest.
“I wanted Fluidé to have a space where we could talk about rest beyond the products we create. A space to share what we believe, but also to listen to how other people experience rest and what it means in their lives and the work they do. That thinking became the ‘Rest to Rise Conversation.’”
The campaign has already sparked conversations across social media, with public health commentator Aproko Doctor among the voices contributing to the discussion around the realities of rest in everyday Nigerian life.
The conversation has also extended to entrepreneurs, advocates and other thought leaders, including Dabota Lawson, entrepreneur and CEO of Dabota Cosmetics, and Maryam Bukar Hassan, poet and UN Global Advocate for Peace and Security, who have shared personal perspectives on rest, ambition and restoration.
Their experiences reflect one of the campaign’s central ideas: rest does not have a universal definition. For an entrepreneur, it may mean stepping away from a business without feeling guilty. For an advocate, it may mean creating the emotional space to recover while continuing to show up for a cause. For someone navigating a demanding career, it could simply mean having permission to disconnect without feeling unproductive.
Beyond the individual stories, Rest to Rise also examines the wider relationship between rest and performance. This initiative explores how intentional pauses can influence creativity, decision-making, productivity and overall well-being, while challenging the assumption that exhaustion is an inevitable measure of ambition.
The campaign will also continue beyond social media through a mix of conversations, personal stories, research-led insights and real world experiences designed to explore the Nigerian experience of rest.
As part of the next phase, Fluidé Homes aims to take the conversation beyond the digital space through a series of carefully curated experiences designed to encourage Nigerians to pause, reconnect and recharge. The activations will bring the central message of Rest to Rise into everyday settings, creating tangible moments that invite people to experience rest rather than simply talk about it.
The ambition extends beyond encouraging Nigerians to rest. Rest to Rise seeks to make rest a more visible, relatable and intentional part of everyday life, while opening up a wider conversation about the pressures of a culture that often equates constant activity with success.
At its core, the initiative challenges the glorification of exhaustion and the idea that slowing down is a sign of lost momentum. Instead, it puts forward a different perspective: that rest can create the clarity, energy and capacity required to work, create, connect and live more fully.
As the conversation grows, Rest to Rise ultimately hopes to shift the way Nigerians think about rest not as something earned after the work is done, but as an essential part of what makes meaningful work, sustainable progress and a fulfilling life possible.
