Ogun State Commissioner for Industry, Trade and Investment, Mrs. Kikelomo Longe has called on Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the State to apply for the Guaranteed Off-take Scheme and grant to boost their businesses.
Mrs. Longe who made the call while speaking on a television programme in Abeokuta, stated that application for the two streams of the Survival Fund has commenced via www.survivalfund.gov.ng
She said the Guaranteed Off-take Scheme, which would enable MSMEs get a contract of N150,000 from the Federal Government is meant for entrepreneurs engaged in the production of face masks, liquid soap, disinfectant, hand sanitisers and different types of food, such as Beans, Garri, Rice (Raw and Parboiled), Yam Flour, Plantain Flour, Cassava Flour, Honey, Palm oil and others.
"I am imploring MSMEs operating in our State, to take advantage of the Guaranteed Off-take Scheme and the General MSMEs Grant, to aid their businesses. For the Guaranteed Off-take Scheme, entrepreneurs that are engaged in the manufacturing and sale of the items listed on the website are eligible to apply", Mrs. Longe said.
The Commissioner added that only Nigerian-owned businesses registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission, with Bank Verification Number (BVN), as well as a minimum staff strength of three are eligible for the Scheme.
Speaking on the General MSMEs Grant, she said the stream would enable the small businesses who missed out on other streams of the Survival Fund to benefit from a one-off grant, which ranges between N50,000 and N100,000.
"The Ogun State Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment has been working assiduously to ensure the State fully utilise its quota, for all the five streams of the Survival Fund. We will continue to intensify campaign and support MSMEs to access the Fund," she said.
Mrs. Longe added that the Ministry would continue to mobilise MSMEs to ensure eligible businesses did not miss out on the Fund, stressing that further enquiries should be made through the Ministry on 08033762594 or send an e-mail to kennyakintomide@gmail.com
